How to Create Your Own Compelling Domain Name For Your Website!

The first rule in having a marketable website is having an easily recognizable website address, otherwise known as a 'URL' (Uniform Resource Locater).

Let's do a test: Which website address below looks more appealing to you?

OR

Which link would you most likely remember?

Here's another question: Which link would you proudly display on all your advertisements?

I KNOW that you answered favorably to the SECOND link.

As you continue setting up your various websites, depending on what program, product, or service you are promoting, you may not get assigned the 'cleanest' website address as listed above. That's where a domain registration service comes in to solve this issue.

The most useful utilities on a domain registration system site is the Domain Registration Query box and the Domain Forwarding feature.

When you purchase a domain (they go for about $8, some could go as low as $1.99!), the Domain Forward feature allows you to take your long, unrecognizable website address, and forward it to your new domain free of charge. And what's more, your prospective visitors never even know about your old unrecognizable website address because it becomes completely transparentit never gets displayed.

The Marketing Rules of Selecting Your Domains:

1) Use the power of '.COM'!!! The first rule of selecting your domain is to DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN to get a domain ending with a '.com '.

.COM .COM .COM .COM!!!!

99% of the country is acclimated to the phrase 'dot com', because it's become such a buzz term across the last decade. As an Internet Marketer you should never discount the power of the 'dot com' extension for driving massive amounts of traffic to your site.

However, some other choices are: .net .biz .info .gov (Government-Need Permission) .mil (Military-Need Permission) .edu (Educational Institutions-Need Permission) (Country Designations: .ca (Canada) .uk (United Kingdom) etc')

2) Keep 'em Short! ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS try your best to keep your website addresses nice and short. For example, which of the following two website addresses would be easier for you and your website visitors to remember?

OR

http://www.Dynamic-Wealth.com

I'm sure you're getting a kick out of the POSSIBILITY that an internet marketer might actually purchase the first website address above, and actually attempt to promote it!

Imagine trying to imprint that website address on your offline marketing materials! I'm sure it would cost a bundle just to fit all the letters into your ad!

3) Easy to Remember! What is a characteristic that the following websites have in common?

Amazon.com Google.com Money.com

They are simply and straightforward! Making your domains easy to remember should be of the utmost importance during your traffic generation efforts. This makes it simple for your prospects to 'brand' you, not to mention making it easier on yourself as well!

Your action steps: Brainstorm between 10-20 available domain names that describe your business using the rules above. Narrow the list down to 2 domains that you would be proud to promote. Purchase the domains, redirect the domains to your existing website addresses, and have fun promoting your new domain names!
