Catering Services

Author: Elizabeth Morgan

One of the most integral parts of a wedding reception is the food because it is what guests remember most. A lot of times, they judge the success of the reception based on the type of food eaten and the service received. Given this, soon-to-be-married couples need to choose well with regard to the catering service they will use. To help them make this choice, they need to do a substantial amount of research and put in a lot of time and effort in finding out as much as they can on caterers through interviews, reference checks and food sampling. Below are some questions that can help couples get the information they need for this decision.

Some initial steps

Before canvassing for caterers, there are a number of things that couples must do first. These include determining how many guests they plan to have, knowing the measurements of the venue, and knowing other details such as special dietary needs of some of their guests. This information can help couples communicate better with their caterer, as these would make it easier for caterers to come up with estimates.

Questions to ask

One of the first things couples need to discuss with a caterer is their catering budget, as this would help both the couple and caterer come up with a package that would fit the budget. With this regard, it would be a good idea to ask a caterer for a contract of service, which specifies all the costs that would be incurred. Another important consideration is on where the caterer gets his ingredients. As much as possible, couples should get a caterer that uses only the freshest and cleanest ingredients.

Another important question that couples need to ask is on the decorations that caterers would provide for the reception. It would be a good idea to get a caterer that goes the extra mile in providing other decorations apart form the linens, table and chairs such as flowers, menu boards and candles. More importantly, couples should also make sure that the caterer that they would get employs well trained wait-staff because guests are also particular with the kind of service they get during the reception.

Food plays an important role in wedding receptions. Given this, couples need to make sure that the catering service they will get would make the celebration more memorable by not only providing good food but good service as well. To help them do these, couples need to do some research and to ask some very important questions, which can help them choose the best caterer for their reception.
