Phentermine Appetite Suppressant - Is It For You?

Author: Kathy Ferneau

The struggle for losing weight is difficult for many reasons:

  1. People love to eat, and losing weight means cutting back on a pleasurable activity.
  2. The process is slow, and we are impatient.
  3. That long time period can lead to failure.

It's no surprise, then, that many people turn to diet pills and appetite suppressants to help the weight loss process. We are looking for:

  1. Elimination of hunger pangs,
  2. Speedy weight loss,
  3. A skinny body.

Many diet pills and supplements line drug store shelves and are hawked on TV infomercials. Celebrity endorsers and ordinary people alike show off their thin physiques, all as a result of that little pill they rely on.

If you decide to try an appetite suppressant, you must be careful or you can waste a lot of money, feel as though you have failed, and worst of all, endanger your health.

One of the most well known appetite suppressants is phentermine. This drug has been available in the United States since 1959. It works along the lines of an amphetamine, intercepting the stomach's message to the brain that it needs food. In short, you don't get the hunger feelings or thoughts of wanting food.

Phentermine is readily available on the Internet, but before you place your first order, talk to your doctor. One of the worst things anyone can do is just order some diet pills and start taking them.

Get a good medical check-up and make sure you don't have a medical condition that could be aggravated by the use of phentermine, such as high blood pressure or rapid heart beat.

Next, do your homework on the Internet, where you can find a wealth of information about phentermine and other drugs.

If your doctor gives the okay, ask if you can purchase phentermine on line, then go head and check for the best price. This is a very competitive industry and sellers fight for your business.

Once you have the product in hand, follow the dosage instructions to the letter. Be sure to:

  • Take the pills at the stated times.
  • Drink a full glass of water with each dosage.
  • Don't crush the pills, take them whole.
  • If you experience side effects, such as racing heart beat, severe headache, hallucinations, or others, stop taking the phentermine immediately and see your doctor.

When you have reached your goal weight, discontinue the drug. Appetite suppressants, and phentermine in particular, can become habit-forming. They are not to be a lifelong crutch to keep you from overeating.

Develop good eating habits so that you don't gain the weight back. Eat healthy, cut out junk food, and exercise modestly. The pills served their purpose, now you can get rid of them.

Don't substitute diet pills for the food you formerly overate. If you find this might be a problem, consider counseling or joining a support group to address any emotional reasons you may have.

Or find a phentermine-related forum on the Internet so you can discuss your feelings and experiences with others.

Using a diet supplement can be a wise or foolish choice--it's up to you.
