A mobile carwash company may seem an unlikely place to be discussing workplace communication however after 27 years in the mobile carwash in the industry, which I practically created; I have noticed that certain teams do extremely well because they have learned how to communicate.

There are many ways to communicate and they are not all are verbal communication. I have watched crew members hold up a squirt bottle and a towel and then get a nod from their co-worker. I have watched crew's wash ten cars in a row and never once say a word, yet communication was there.

Very similar to watching a championship soccer team, where everyone was in the zone. Does your company operate like that? It could, workplace communication does not have to be verbal and it is not have to only be in the office.

Work Place communication can happen in the field and even in a mobile carwash business in a parking lot. Practice makes perfect they say and I am happy to tell that many of our crews have reached that pinnacle.

Teams work better together when everyone is on the same page and has the same goal in mind. If you're having problems with work Place communication perhaps some of the people on the team are not in it to win it and they are not in it for the company but rather themselves. I hope you will consider this in 2006.
