How to Keep Healthy In-flight

Author: Paul Cris

A few important points regarding the diet in a flight in order to stay fit are:

1. Contact your airline associates 24 hours before the flight and request them to prepare a wholesome meal that contains a balanced blend of proteins and minerals in them.

2. You can prepare your own food or get food that does not perish due to the climatic changes. Preferably do not get eatables that create a lot of sound when you munch on them as people around you might not like it.

3. You may come across various problems such as flight delays or receive a meal of poor quality. Hence it it advised that you carry an energy bar and eat it in such situations to keep yourself fit.

4. Use caffeine and alcohol to a limited extent to prevent dehydration.

5. Usually the food that is served in-flight is not wholesome, although several varieties of edibles are available. So pick up the food type that yields the maximum energy.

You must be careful about the MSG content in the food. Do not rely upon the promises made by the airlines, if you are really sensitive to it. Prefer carrying your own food basket. And if you strictly order a vegetarian meal you may end up receiving only a banana or a juice.
